A few days ago, around July 26, 2018, a group of international projects, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Negeri Semarang visited The King’s palace of Malaysia. In the middle of the journey, our local tour guide told us a few things about the place, such as: the palace of malaysia country can not be visited by common people, the gate is only open to the public once a year, that is when Idul Fitri arrived. The Malaysia king today is the Agong Tengku Muhammad Faris Petra ibni Sultan Ismail Petra. He was born on October 6, 1969 (48 years old), in Kota Bharu, Malaysia. He is the only king who is still single to this day.
The requirements to be king in Malaysia are as follows:
- Sanctity among the Sultan and King;
- Your Majesty is pleased to be Agong;
- Not experiencing weakness or mental inadequacy;
- It is the King who is in the top position;
- Get a support of at least five other Kings;
- It is not someone who has held the Yang Yang-Pertuan Agong service for two consecutive cuts.
In the courtyard court, visible hundreds of tourists entering one of the city’s tourist attractions in Kuala Lumpur, after getting off their bus. The tourists come and gather in the courtyard of the palace door. When arriving at the palace courtyard, tourists can see the architecture of the palace building where “Yang di Pertuan Agong” works as King of Malaysia. From the yard, white, yellow and golden colors adorn the architecture of the building. Gold-colored calligraphy engraved at the main gate. At the same gate, there are four palace guards wearing white and red clothes. The guards are in charge of guarding the palace.
The red-dressed warrior style, was inspired by British soldiers. This is because historically, Malaysia is a British commonwealth. At the door of the palace, the guard in red uniforms was assigned to ride a horse.
While the guards in white uniform and traditional sarongs just stand with bayonets. They look alert and calm even though the tourists take pictures in front of him. Soldiers or in the Malaysian language is called askal, they will position every two hours. they are guard from 08.00-17.00 malaysia time. The King’s Palace is located on Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Tourists who want to go to The King’s Palace can use the transportation of the hop-on bus from the city center, taxi, or they can rent a car.
