A Visit to Twin Tower

The International Project 2018 agenda for the IUPians was conducted by visiting several tourist attractions. One of them is Petronas Twin Towers. The participants arrived at the Twin Towers at 4.30 pm Malaysian time. The journey took about 30 minutes by bus after conduct the visitation in the Universitas Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI).

Upon arrival at Twin Towers, the participants were directed to the assembly point to get direction then participants are encouraged to conduct ahsar prayer first. Afterwards, international project participants were required to observe around the Twin Towers until 6.00 pm and return to the assembly point by 6.30 pm.

Twin Towers is one of tourist destinations in Malaysia that is always crowded with local and foreign tourists. This is not too surprising because the Twin Towers became an icon not only for Kuala Lumpur but also for Malaysia. Petronas Twin Towers is the world’s tallest twin building with 88 floors.

The base of Petronas Twin Towers is Suria-Kuala Lumpur Convention Center (KLCC), a popular shopping mall for both local Malaysian tourists and foreign tourists. In addition, there is extensive KLCC Garden landscape with jogging track, walking path, fountain, wading pool for children. Next to the mall and the park, there are also Petronas Art Gallery and Petrosains Science Center.

Petronas Art Gallery is a modern and contemporary art gallery located at level 3 Suria KLCC it is a top selling destination for art works to improve the arts development in Malaysia. The Petrosains Science Center is an interactive science and technology discovery center. It showcases matters relating to the petroleum industry from petroleum origin in the days of dinosaurs to the latest products of petroleum.

Another famous feature of the Petronas Twin Towers is the Petronas Philharmonic Concert Hall Board. There is a classical music performances that stand out in Southeast Asia in this place. Petronas Twin Towers also has an observation deck at level 86 towers, where visitors can see the top of the tower from near. There is also a digital display about the history of the towers.

The towers are connected to Skybridge which is another excellent feature of the Petronas Twin Towers. This bridge allows visitors enjoy the view of the city without having to go down the tower. In addition, this bridge also serves as an emergency exit route. For visitors who are interested to visit Skybridge must have a ticket that can be obtained with a long queue even from dawn. The fee to enter this place also not cheap, which is about 100 Malaysian ringgit. Not infrequently many tourists who run out of tickets every day because they did not queue up at the beginning of time.

As an instrument to direct observation, the International Project participants also documented their findings into several photographs. Not to forget, they also captured the moment with friends and lecturers with twin towers as the background. It also gave the impression to all participants about the warmness of a togetherness as an unforgettable moment.

After visiting twin towers, international project participants headed to Resto for dinner.
