IUP DEE

International Undergraduate Program Department of Economics Education (IUP DEE) Faculty of Economics Universitas Negeri Semarang is one of well-established international classes at Universitas Negeri Semarang. IUP DEE International Education Week (IEW) 2017 is an opportunity for IUPians (students of IUP) to celebrate the benefits of International Education and exchange worldwide. It is an avenue to inspire students to broaden their perspectives through global learning, foreign languages and international exchange and travel.

This is the first year of IUPians celebrating the International Education Week. We aim towards further internationalization and globalization of the university, a goal which is dependent on the campus wide effort of every department, office, faculty, staff and student. As we achieve this goal, we provide our students with a well-rounded education which will enable them to succeed in a globally competitive and interdependent economy and society.
We invite you to participate in this week celebration for 5 programs, they are IUP DEE seminar, IELTS simulation, IUP Talks, Cultural Exhibition, and Culinary Bazaar.

For the 1st event, IUP DEE Seminar, International Undergraduate Program of Department of Economics Education (IUP-DEE) UNNES in collaboration with Permata Bangsa International School under the theme “Contextualizing the International Education Landscape in the 21st Century” will conduct a seminar with 3 keynote speakers, they are: Ms. Kerry Neuman, Principal and Curriculum Developer of Permata Bangsa International School; Dr. Ekawati Dukut, Head of International Office of UNIKA Seogijapranata, and Mr. Sandy Arief, Executive Chairman of IUP DEE UNNES.

The 2nd event is IELTS Simulation test. This simulation test can provide you with valuable examination practice, an insight about what IELTS test is like, a solid idea on what types of questions will be asked, and practice in working under examination conditions. IELTS Simulation will prepare students for the real IELTS test, to get a real sense of what will happen during the test, to get used to the format of the test, and to set a benchmark of English proficiency so that students will know what needs to be improved. Another briliant event is IUP Talks with Ms Raeni, she is a one of the Program Coordinators of IUP DEE who has remarkable achievements. This event conducted by IUPians to broader their knowledge in particular issues. In this IUP Talks, we are going to invite one of the authors of a book entitled “Soul Traveller.” This book contains of Indonesian students experiences in pursuing their dreams to study overseas. By this theme, we want to stimulate students to be persistence in order to make their dreams come true.

Last but not least, At IUP DEE, diversity is defined as the characteristics and attributes that make each one of us unique. Our goal is to leverage the varied experiences and ideas that each individual brings for the good of the institution overall. With this year’s theme “UNITY IN DIVERSITY” IUP DEE provides this cultural exhibition to enrich the people’s knowledge, understanding and appreciation of our cultural heritage, to reflect its full diversity, to provide a cultural and educational resource, to encourage involvement in the visual arts and nurture a culturally diverse but shared national identity. Our students from Denmark, Malaysia, Indonesia and other countries will give the best performances in this spectacular show. Join us!
