International Teaching Practice: Creating world-class educator

International Teaching Practice (ITP) is one of the most important components in the training of the students to become the world class teacher. By doing so, students gain professional experience and advance their future career while enjoying the benefits of seeing the beautiful world. This year, 3 students from Economic Education, they are, Fatih Atsaris Sujud, Rochani, and Merlina are going to do ITP in Vietnam and Malaysia from August to November 2017.

According to the data from International Undergraduate Program, Department of Economic Education (IUP DEE) office, this program has been running for years in many countries including Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam. Meanwhile, Mr. Sandy Arief, S.Pd., M.Sc., stated that IUP always strives to expand its international partnerships not only in Asia but also in Europe and Americas. “This program becomes excellent professional development and the opportunity for students to broaden students’ knowledge and experience through adapting to life and work in a different community and culture. The scope of the program will be expanded not only for students but also for faculty members in the near future.” He added.

In fact, based on the data from ISC research in the brand new 2017 Global Report on the K–12 international schools market, there is a high demand for international educators, with a continuously growing job market that is expected to double in the next few years.
